CONCORD RECORDS CHOOSES MAGNUS FOR PR PROJECTS
Arcadia, CA., February 6, 2002Magnus & Co., a full-service public relations firm, today announced that it will be helping to build and stimulate awareness for Concord Records, one of the nation’s largest independent record labels, leading up to the 44th Annual GRAMMY Awards® on February 27th. Concord Records garnered eleven GRAMMY® nominations this year, which is unprecedented for an independent label not affiliated to a major.
Concord Records, which is partially owned by writer, director and philanthropist, Norman Lear, has a roster of world-renowned artists that now includes Karrin Allyson, Patti Austin, Rosemary Clooney, Chick Corea, Michael Feinstein, Nneena Freelon, Poncho Sanchez, Diane Schuur, and Keely Smith. Last year, the label signed a deal with pop legend Barry Manilow to release his first album of original material in 16 years.
In addition to the GRAMMY-related project, Magnus will help promote and publicize two upcoming Concord releases. They include Live at the Blue Note from Brazilian pianist and vocalist, Tania Maria, and Virtuosi from Gary Burton and Makoto Ozone.
